Vietnam eVisa Application

Traveler preparing a Vietnam eVisa application online

A Vietnam eVisa is prepared online before travel and may be valid for up to 90 days. It can permit a single entry or multiple entries.

Errors in passport details, dates, photographs or itinerary information may result in a correction request, delay or problems shortly before departure. We therefore review the case and documents first, then confirm whether the application can be accepted for standard processing or requires a separate urgent service.

Standard processing has no approval guarantee. Urgent processing is a separate service after preliminary review.

Definition

What is a Vietnam eVisa?

A Vietnam eVisa is an electronic document issued by the Vietnamese immigration authority. It shows the traveller's details, validity period and permitted number of entries.

  • Single-entry - one entry.
  • Multiple-entry - several entries during the visa-validity period.

The maximum validity is 90 days. The actual dates are requested in the application and shown on the issued eVisa.

Official portal

Can I apply independently?

Yes. The official website for independent applications is:

https://evisa.gov.vn

Anton and Anna are not a government authority. Independent application may suit a straightforward case when the documents are correctly prepared, enough time remains before travel and the applicant understands the English-language form.

Our service is not limited to copying passport details. We review the case before submission, help select the dates and entry type, check photographs and consider previous applications and immigration history.

Who can apply for a new eVisa?

The government's new eVisa application system is intended for foreign nationals who are outside Vietnam and plan to enter the country.

A new eVisa does not automatically extend a lawful stay while the traveller remains inside Vietnam. When the applicant is already in the country, we separately review the current status, final permitted day of stay, departure needs, planned re-entry date, new eVisa suitability and whether a visa run or another lawful route is needed.

Documents

What is required for the review and application?

For the initial review

Nationality and current location, passport expiry date, planned entry and departure dates, intended first port of entry, single or multiple entry, existing application status and immigration history.

For the application

A passport, a colour image of the passport biographical page, a recent portrait photograph, travel dates and itinerary details, an intended address in Vietnam and contact information.

Do not send passport documents to an unknown intermediary before confirming who receives them and under what terms.

Vietnam eVisa photo requirements

JPG or JPEG.

File size below 2 MB.

Face looking directly at the camera.

Light or white background.

No glasses or head covering.

Sharp image without strong shadows or filters.

Passport validity

How much passport validity is required?

Official condition

The requested eVisa must expire at least 30 days before the passport expiry date.

Service condition

Anton and Anna accept a new application only when the passport will remain valid for at least six months on the planned entry date.

This is an internal service requirement, not a universal official Vietnamese rule.

Airline and transit rules

Airlines and transit countries may impose additional requirements. Check them separately based on the itinerary, baggage arrangements, transit area and separate tickets.

What we review before submission

The name, passport number and dates.

Passport validity.

Portrait and passport images.

Requested visa period.

Single or multiple entry.

Intended first port of entry.

Active applications and correction requests.

The applicant's current location.

Immigration history.

We then confirm whether the application can be accepted, whether standard or urgent processing is available, what must be corrected and the exact price.

Common Vietnam eVisa application mistakes

Details do not match the passport

A missing name element, spelling difference, incorrect passport number or date may create a mismatch in the issued document.

Incorrect visa dates

The start date may fall after arrival or the expiry date before departure. Entering later does not extend the printed expiry date.

Wrong entry type

A single-entry eVisa cannot be reused after departure. Multiple entry is required when the traveller plans to leave and return during the visa-validity period.

Unsuitable images

Blur, glasses, head coverings, shadows, glare, a cropped passport page or unreadable details may cause a correction request.

Another application already exists

Overlapping applications may complicate the case. Do not submit a new application before checking the existing one.

Immigration history is not disclosed

An overstay, fine or denied entry does not always make approval impossible, but it must be disclosed before submission.

Single-entry or multiple-entry

Single-entry

Suitable for one entry. Once the traveller leaves Vietnam, the used eVisa cannot be used again even if the expiry date has not passed.

Multiple-entry

Needed for regional trips, departure and return, several border crossings, cruises or complex itineraries.

How to choose the eVisa dates

The actual date of passport control.

Planned departure.

Possible flight changes.

Repeat entries.

A reasonable itinerary margin.

The eVisa cannot be used before its start date. A traveller who qualifies for visa exemption may enter earlier under that separate regime, but the eVisa does not activate automatically while the person remains inside Vietnam.

How to choose a border checkpoint

An eVisa may be used only at international airports, land checkpoints and seaports included in the current government-approved list.

The departure checkpoint does not have to match the arrival checkpoint, but both must permit eVisa use. If the intended first port of entry changes after submission, review the situation before travel.

A fixed complete list is not reproduced on the page because it may be updated.

Process

How the process works with Anton and Anna

1. Initial review

You provide nationality, current location, passport details, travel dates, entry type and information about previous applications.

2. Documents and decision

We review the case, confirm whether it can be accepted and request the portrait photograph, passport page and required details.

3. Pre-submission check

We check passport data, dates, images, entry type, checkpoint and application history.

4. Payment and submission

After the terms and payment are agreed, the application is submitted to the immigration system. Processing begins after actual submission, not after the first message or payment transfer.

5. Monitoring and result

We monitor the application, report correction requests and send the issued eVisa for immediate review.

Standard processing is provided without an approval guarantee.

The standard service includes up to three correction requests. A fourth correction request or no result after more than 10 business days may require a separate review and become a separate paid service.

After a correction request, the new processing period begins upon actual resubmission.

Need faster processing or an approval guarantee?

Standard processing takes 7-10 business days and does not include an approval guarantee. If your travel date is close or you need a service with an approval guarantee after preliminary review, see the urgent processing options.

When urgent eVisa processing may be needed

After individual review, available options may include 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, 1 business day, 2 business days or 3 business days.

The urgent processing time is confirmed only after review and written acceptance. It begins after actual submission.

How to check the issued eVisa

Full name.

Passport number.

Nationality and date of birth.

Start and expiry dates.

Single or multiple entry.

All other details.

Keep a copy on your phone, in the message history or cloud storage, and print at least one paper copy.

If the application is returned or remains under review

A correction request is not a refusal. The immigration authority may request a new photograph, passport image or clarification of personal details, accommodation address, dates or port of entry.

After correction, the new processing period begins upon actual resubmission. Do not create another application before reviewing the existing one, because overlapping applications may complicate the case.

For the standard service, first allow the practical period of 7-10 business days. Up to three correction requests are included; a fourth request or no result after more than 10 business days is reviewed separately.
